HEALING PAST AND PRESENT

Spiritual Healing Today

Can we free ourselves and others from the effects of error's subtle deceptions? Yes. By faithfully practicing what Jesus taught his followers, and by prayerfully striving to emulate his example, we can "know the truth" about ourselves and others, and the truth will make us free. If it is truth that makes us free, obviously that which impedes or obstructs our freedom is truth’s opposite, — that which is not true. What becomes of that which is untrue when we know the truth? It simply vanishes, like darkness that has been exposed to the light.

There are a few simple steps which you may find helpful in praying more effectively, and in knowing the truth more thoroughly and consistently. Why these steps? Because a systematic and disciplined approach to prayer is always more desirable than a hit and miss effort which misses more often than it hits. Don’t forget, the claim that there actually is a carnal mind is both subtle and persistent in its enmity against God, — its hypnotic attempts to obscure the truth in our thinking. Remember also how comfortable and familiar we have become with the deceptions, and how accustomed we are to believing that which is not true.
