COSMIC KOOL-AID

Watching the senses perceive
will supercede what you believe.
Thoughts you think you've entertained,
goals you think that you've attained,
are fraught with self-deception.

Drunk on cosmic Kool-Aid,
life is but a game you've played
without the benefit of rules -
a comic script for earthly fools
who misconstrue perception.

Seeing transcends what is seen.
Like the difference between
tasting and the things you've tasted.
Focus, when on things, is wasted,
not discerning means from end.

Means involve an inward sense.
Ends are outward evidence.
The objects seen but not the seeing.
Ends obscure the truth of being,
make it hard to comprehend.

Human thought is too illusive,
its conclusions inconclusive.
Shift your focus, that's the key.
It's not what's seen, but when you see
that solves the mystery of being.

Give up thoughts of time and space.
Look your senses in the face.
Watch them feel, hear, taste, and smell.
Now is when they serve you well.
Now is all we're ever seeing.
