Welcome To My Page!

My name is Ken Bennet.  I live in Bend, Oregon. I retired at age 56 when my daughter Hannah  was born in 1996.  This is how I found the time to write poetry and to learn web programming.  The collection of poems titled, "Spirit and The Ego, Clash of Ancient Titans", was written during the long  naps of Hannah's infancy, and in conjunction with my early studies of "A Course In Miracles."  The book, "Biblical Healing, Christian and Scientific", was written prior to Hannah's arrival, and was the result of my ongoing study and practice of Christian Science healing.

I took up the study of Christian Science and spiritual healing 40 years ago.  I became a member of the Christian Science church in 1971, and I have relied exclusively on this Biblical and Christian approach to healing  through prayer ever since.   As a Christian Science chaplain, I served as a volunteer in the California prison system for nine years, and witnessed first hand the power of truth to free mankind from the imprisoning effects of fear and ignorance -- ignorance of man's inherent exemption from sin, sickness, and death as the child of God.

Pursuing a practical understanding of Biblical healing as Jesus taught it and as Mary Baker Eddy has explained it in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health With Key To The Scriptures", has been the overriding objective of my life for all of those years.  The contents of this web site is only a small window on the vast universe of spiritual understanding, insight, healing, and peace that have resulted from that pursuit.

I became interested in "A Course In Miracles" in 1995.   The theme of the book, "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists, herein lies the peace of God", captured my attention right at the outset.  As I studied, I began to realize that the message in this book and the message in the Christian Science textbook,  were one and the same message, coming directly from the Holy Spirit.   The ideas contained in these two books, to me are analogous to the divine messages heard by Paul on the road to Damascus and by the Apostle John on the Isle of Patmos. They are Christ's revelation of truth emanating from that spiritual source which always transcends the temporal realm of human perception and its imaginary, external world of mortals and materiality.

My hope and prayer is that you find the information and the inspiration at this site to be helpful in your own journey spiritward, and I hope that you return frequently.

God bless.
