ATONEMENT

If I accept Atonement, I must see the end of choice, — see myself as God sees me, silencing the voice of uncertainty, where every branch of doubt is rooted. Questioning must be commuted to knowledge — joy that knows no scar! What am I? Is not a question. It’s the ego’s false suggestion we’ve forgotten who we are. “Know thyself”, is truth’s advice for thwarting ego-centric vice. The ego’s claim that it is you exacts a subtle, unseen price, demands of you this sacrifice: the loss of Self, without a clue that you are something now instead of you. A body with a sinning soul, a mortal man beyond control of thinking or of destiny, an egotistic parody of man. Drop this tainted ego-view of ancient dreams. It isn’t you. Atonement is the proof it isn’t true!
